Residents In Savannah and Providence To Benefit From Enhanced Fire Service

Click to enlarge Navo Fire StationOn Tuesday, November 6th, resident voters within the communities of Providence Village, Savannah and Paloma Creek approved an initiative to fund enhanced fire fighting services for the Navo Fire Station. These funds will be dedicated to funding fulltime fire fighters for the Navo Fire Station and operation and maintenance costs for those operations. This enhancement will greatly reduce response times and will lead to a great community interaction with fire fighters and fire safety education within our communities.

The Fire Plan as approved will allow the following:

  1. A full-time firefighting team at the Navo Fire Station dedicated to serve our communities.
  2. Greatly enhanced fire fighting services to serve your home and community schools.
  3. Opportunity for the Aubrey Fire Department to apply for a fire insurance rating upgrade (ISO Rating), which could save residents costs on their homeowners insurance.
  4. Reduce response time by firefighters.
  5. The allowable dispatch of firefighters from the Navo Fire Station 24 hrs a day because the first few minutes of any emergency are the most critical.
  6. Reduce the potential risk of loss of property and life within your community.
  7. Provide citizens/residents with a safer environment to live, work and play.

The Denton County Fresh Water Supply Districts (Districts), that make up the three 380 Corridor communities, have worked diligently over the past year to gain approval from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) to hold the election to approve the Fire Service Plan and contract with the Aubrey Fire Department to man the stations once the proposal was approved by the voters.
